How to validate a business idea before you spend a penny

The most expensive mistake in online business isn't a bad ad or an ugly logo. It's spending three months and a few hundred pounds building something nobody wanted. Validation is how you avoid that, and with AI you can do it in an afternoon.

Start with demand, not passion. A product you love that no one searches for is a hobby. Use AI-assisted research to check whether people are actively looking for, and buying, what you're considering. Search volume, existing competitors, and marketplace listings are all signals that a market already exists.

Then check the maths. Take your likely selling price and subtract the product cost, shipping, transaction fees and a realistic slice for ads. If there's nothing left, no amount of marketing saves you. A healthy idea leaves margin after all of that, not before.

Finally, score it honestly. In the course we run every idea through a 15-point test covering demand, margin, competition, how easily it can be automated, and how repeatable it is. An idea that passes most of those is worth building. One that fails half of them is a lesson, not a business, and it's far cheaper to learn that now.

The point isn't to kill your enthusiasm. It's to aim it at something that can actually work, so the effort you're about to pour in has somewhere to go.
